Chi-Town Collectibles decided we wanted to promote our business by selling Teddy Bears. The Bear animal is the mascot for two major sports teams; Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Since Chi-town Collectibles is located in Wrigley-ville, the home to the historic Wrigley field where both the Bears and Cubs have played and is still the home of the Chicago Cubs, we felt it appropriate to make a teddy bear our signature product. It represents us and Chicago sports. Plus who doesn't love cute teddy bears?

The bear comes in two color schemes, red and blue, and orange and blue. The two schemes represent the Cubs (red and blue) who have played at Wrigley field since the early 1900s and the Bears (orange and blue) who called Wrigley field home from 1920 until 1970. Including the Bears colors is a tribute to the history of the stadium that will always be honored.

The t-shirt the teddy bear is wearing is also important. It is white which makes it a great item to have current and retired Chicago athletes sign it. The shirt also has an image of Wrigley Field. Wrigley Field is located in the north side community area of Lakeview, Wrigley Field sits on an irregular block bounded by Clark(west) and Addison (south) Streets and Waveland (north) and Sheffield (east) Avenues. Wrigley Field is nicknamed "The Friendly Confines". It's most famous feature is the green ivy on the outfield wall and the brick infrastructure of the walls. It is one of the oldest ball parks in the majors, it still has a hand turned scoreboard a posed to an electric one most use in the game today. The image on the teddy bear's shirt is the iconic red marquee over the main entrance and has the words, "Cubs Win!" We at Chi-Town Collectibles hope that it will read "World Series Champs!" this fall.

Purchasing this bear gives our shop more recognition. It spreads the message we try to share everyday we come into work; the special history of sports in one of the greatest cities on earth. It has our website and information on the back of the t-shirt. It will help advertise our shop to new customers. We are a small local business hoping to gain more business so we can continue our mission. There is also a huge incentive for the purchaser of the teddy bear or the recipient of a teddy bear if given as a gift, its a 20% discount when a teddy bear is brought into the shop. With the amount of big ticket items we sell at our shop 20% can end up saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Since our shop is a frequent location for current and retired Chicago athletes to have signing we have collected multiple signatures on some of the teddy bears. These one of a kind autographed teddy bears will be auctioned off during our annual Chicago pride promotion during the month of June.
